Launching April 1, 2008 (and that's no fool's joke!)

Kids Creating will be launched on April 1, 2008 with the “Be A Game Creator” competition. Through a partnership with ClickTeam, KidFriendlyOnline.Net will offer our Kid Members an opportunity to:

• Learn how to use actual software to create an arcade video game.




• After the online training, each participant will be given 4-6 weeks to develop their game. During this time they will have access to experts who will be available to coach them through the process and answer technical questions.




• Once their game is submitted to KidFriendlyOnline.Net, it will be made available to all of our members – play away!
  
  KidFriendlyOnline.Net members will have an opportunity to vote for their favorite game – using the “American Idol” rating model to choose the “best game.




• Scholarship prizes will be awarded to the top 3 game developers.

Future planned programs for the Kids Creating portion of KidFriendlyOnline.Net are an Art Gallery where Members can display their artwork; a play writing competition, concept car design competition, writing a musical, clothing design competition, writing a children’s story.

Each program will feature expert mentors who will coach the Kids during the first phase of the program.

Kids Creating will also feature a Career Center where we will present experts who will talk about their careers and “how to become” and “when to start” information for kids who are trying to figure out what they want to be when they grow up. We will maintain a Career Center library with these stories and other resources.
