The Boardwalk at Hersheypark

Splash, hello there. Joshua Rivera. As a KidReporter, I was invited to visit to Hersheypark and the Boardwalk. This is a place where you can get wet and cool off on a hot day…and then you can go back and experience some hot rides! I’ll tell you about one amusement park ride I went on at Hersheypark that I think is really hot! Hope this report is a good one.

The Boardwalk at Hersheypark is awesome. The first thing my mom and my aunt and I did was go on the Whirlwind. The whirlwind is a water slide. When the Whirlwind is about to end you go down this thing that looks like a blow horn. That water slide was cool.

Another water slide I went on was the Vortex. The Vortex is a water slide that is roofless water slide at some places. The Vortex is really dark.

Another thing I did at the Hersheypark Boardwalk was the East Coast Waterworks. That was totally awesome. There is this big bucket that gets filled every couple minutes, and when the horn blows… Splash! You get soaked. The Hersheypark Boardwalk was awesome.

The best Hersheypark Amusement ride I went on was the Fahrenheit. That ride was hot! I mean really hot! When you go down the hill the temperature is 97 degrees Fahrenheit. That ride was cool. When you go up the hill it feels like you’re falling down a bridge, and once you go down the hill it feels like you’re being sucked into a tornado.

So that’s it. If you go to Hersheypark remember my report - do you want to heat up or cool down? Hersheypark rocks!!!!!

A Visit to Carlisle Sports Emporium

Hello there. Joshua Rivera at your service. On this report I’m going to tell you about the day I went to the Carlisle Sports Emporium. Some of the things I’m going to tell you about my visit to the Carlisle Sports Emporium are when I did laser tag, miniature golf, when I rode go-karts, and why the Carlisle Sports Emporium is a great family outing. Hope you like it.

I think the Carlisle Sports Emporium is a great family outing because families can spend time together playing sports and stuff.

One of the things I did at the Emporium was laser tag. That was the best thing I did there. To get points you have to shoot your enemies or shoot your enemies' ships. If you run out of your 10 lives or run out of ammo you have to go to your team’s checkpoint to recharge. Team sports are always fun with families.

Another thing I did at the Sports Emporium was I rode go-karts. The go-kart I rode in was a Pepsi go-kart. On the last lap I bumped with my aunt. We crashed so hard we saw a spark on the rail.

I also played miniature golf at the Carlisle Sports Emporium. The miniature golf course we went on was the western golf course. That golf course had 18 holes. The best hole I liked on the western course was the 16th hole because it was a looptie-loop hole. The golf course was really big and also cool. Here’s a picture of me looking for my ball.

There are so many things to do at Carlisle Sports Emporium. That’s why it’s fun for the whole family – each member can pick what they like best and the rest of the family can join them.

Well, that’s it for this one. Did you like my report about my visit to the Carlisle Sports Emporium? Have the best day ever. Joshua Rivera, sports rookie, off duty and out.

A Visit to Clipper Magazine Stadium
for a
Lancaster Barnstormers Game

Hey what’s up? It’s me Joshua Rivera your local KidReporter, reporting for duty. I’m going to tell you about one of the Barnstormers game I went to at Clipper Magazine Stadium, and how cool it was. Hope you like it.

The Clipper Magazine Stadium is a baseball stadium in Lancaster, Pennsylvania for the Barnstormers, a minor league team.

The Barnstormers game I went to was awesome. I got to watch the game from the press box. I also got to go in one of the suites they had. The suite that I was in was cool. It had 2 mini plasma screen television. It also had some of the bats the Barnstormers’ players used. I also got to meet the people who write for the Clipper Magazine.

One of my friends and I got tickets to ride the bumper boats in Homerun Harbor. Once we got on the boats the battle begun. Everyone got soaked. After we finished the bumper boats we went back to the park to watch the Barnstormers game. We went to Cylo’s clubhouse. It was fun. The other thing we did was throwing the ball in the hole. The person who gave us the balls to throw in the hole bet us that who ever got 3 out of 4 balls in the hole would get money. I didn’t get the money. Actually nobody did.

We did the coolest thing at the very end of the baseball game. My friend and I got to run all of the bases along with like 80 other kids. I felt like a true baseball player while running the bases. I was daydreaming until my I left my slipper behind on third base. My little cousin was screaming for me as I ran the bases.

Of course the Barnstormers won 8 to 5 against the Bears. So that’s it. I hope you liked my report. Gooooooooo Barnstormers!!!!

A Visit to The National Christmas Center

Hey, hey, hey!

It’s me Joshua - KidReporter from Lancaster, PA. I’m going to tell you about the National Christmas Center how fun it is, how cool it is, and what it’s like.

The National Christmas Center is a beautiful place to learn about the history of Christmas and how people from other countries think of Santa Claus. The thing I liked most about the National Christmas Center was the 45 life-sized sculptures. Their faces looked so real. That’s because artists were hired from the museum to take real people and put plaster on the real people to create molds for the actual sculptures. Then they used the plaster molds to create the sculptures out of wax.

I also liked the fact that although it was July when I visited the National Christmas Center, it felt just like Christmas the minute I walked through the doors.

I saw three displays in the museum that I really liked. One of them is a display about a girl named Virginia. She was only eight years old when she wrote a letter to the New York Sun asking if there really was a Santa. The museum has an actual copy of the letter.

Another display I particularly liked was the Woolworth store. Years ago when people couldn’t afford expensive toys for their kids, they went to Woolworth’s and could by about 3 toys for 10 cents.

The last display that I liked is called the end of the day ornaments. Some people think they call it end of the day ornaments because they used the leftover glass from the end of the day to make the ornaments. Glassmakers would mix up all the leftover glass to make these beautifully colored ornaments. Another possible reason for calling them the end of day ornaments is people think the colors from the end of the day ornament are the colors from the sunset which is at the end of the day.

That’s my story about the National Christmas Center. Christmas always makes me feel good. That’s why I enjoyed the National Christmas center so much and I know you will too. I hope you liked my report.
